Do you respect Canelo's decision?

How do you guys feel ultimately about Canelo? Do you feel that his head is getting too big and that he's writing checks with his mouth that he may not be able to cash in the future?

I'm reluctant to jump on his bandwagon because of how he acted with respect to being on the Mayweather/Ortiz undercard.



First he doesn't want to be on a Mayweather card because he feels its a 'step back' because he's a Main Event fighter, but in all honesty, he hasn't done much to even believe he deserves that moniker.

I bring this up because the hypocrisy that is coming from this kid, he believes he's in Floyd's league in terms of being an attraction and didn't want to fight on his card and wants to be on his own ****, but he's d*ck riding the Ortiz/Mayweather promotions and being everywhere.

Does this not irritate anyone else? Is he on the verge of becoming another failed experiment because he bought his own hype before getting in the ring with a semi-top fighter?

naw, i think he's just use to headlining his own cards. he's involved with the promotion because his fight will be part of it (the broadcast). i could understand the hate he gets sometimes, but he's just a young guy with promoters really pushing him into the spotlight, all he does is fight who he's assigned to.

He's not really apart of it, he drew the line in the sand and is fighting off in Staples Ctr on a split feed. He's just riding Mayweather and Ortiz to sell a fight that'll happen in another state. Its pretty insulting that you say you are above a Mayweather fight undercard, yet you have a real mexican LEGEND fighting on that very undercard of Mayweather.

If he's too good to be on the undercard, than he should be on his own promoting his fight.

Are you really equating pesos with dollars?

If each seat was valued at $50 American, converted into pesos and with 60K, it'd be like 3 millions dollars or so. I mean, then by all means go to Mexico. If seats in mexico even costs 50 dollars equivalent, then I'd be surprised.

Its not a step down to be in a spectacle of the biggest boxing fight of the year. And I don't understand how its a step down for Canelo be on Floyd's undercard, but not for Morales, who by the way will be in the Hall of Fame and be remembered was one of the greatest Mexican fighters ever.
