I have a feeling Ortiz will be overcome massively by nerves come fight night

Mayweather has been making a valid point during the build up. He claims that when you're surrounded by all the flashing lights, camera, people chanting... it's not the same. The sudden realisation of being in the biggest fight of your life - and against the best boxer in the world - will kick your nerves into action. I think Floyd also make this statement, because he too was overcome with nerves recently, when facing Oscar De La Hoya - go watch the fight from the start again if you disagree with me.

Ortiz has crumbled before, it's not so farfetched to think it could happen again, especially when taking into account all the variables.

the fact that he constantly says "i don't care what people think of me" makes me think he cares a lot what people think of him.

I don't think it will be a problem but who the hell knows. That is going to be the biggest stage of his career. I think all the excitement might make him tired by the 5 or 6 round.

...Another reason why we've seen Floyd working on his body-game

This is a very valid point. Ortiz is in a very different situation coming into this fight. I believe it's a factor in the fight and could be a very real issue.

I also agree that Victor very much cares about what people think and say about him; for instance, the "face off" with Floyd should have been the "Face off" with Kellerman, cause that dude visibly hurt by whatever Kellerman said at the time lol.

          Good point!

I think maybe it'll take a couple of rounds for ortiz to shake off the nerves. after that i don't see it affecting him.

But by the time he shakes off the nerves it will be too late

I dont know how strong Ortiz's mentally.I hope the best Ortiz shows up so he can see the difference between a great boxer and ordinary boxer.

Ortiz's usually a quick starter though with some decent power.Hopefully Mayweather doesnt want 2 rounds to figure Ortiz out.Hope he just does what he did to Marquez and Gatti

I hope ortiz doesnt blame the loss on nerves after he loses. Although i wouldnt put it past him or his fans.
