Mikey has skills but don't know what he would do if he pushed out of that comfort zone cause he hasn't faced a top opponent that won't back down or can match him skill wise. At times he is robotic

Gamboa is comming up to a skill opponent. 60/40 in Gamboa's favor in my eyes but would like to see Mikey against a live oponent and I might change my opinion

Gamboa could use better balance. He's been down due to over-aggression and being out of balance. And, yes, while Yuri's been knocked down several times, he's never been hurt.

The previous poster's comparison between Gamboa and Arce's ages and their professional careers shows ignorance of Yuri's past and the Cuban condition. Cuba is a communist dictatorship that doesn't allow it's citizens to freely leave the country. Gamboa was only able to start a professional career after escaping from his homeland. While Jorge started his career in 1996, Yuri was only able to launch his in 2007.

I also agree with your last statement. Garcia needs to fight stronger opposition before taking on a beast like Gamboa.

Yeah Gamboa can't make weight anymore hence maybe the 127 fight yday. Maybe they can meet at 130 I doubt it but we can hope. Unfortunately we might never see this fight.

I love how Gamboa -- a guy with hundreds of amateur victories in international competition, an Olympic gold medal, obviously blinding speed, athleticism and power -- is somehow considered a "hype-job," but Garcia is not.

Tell me what Mikey has over Yuriorkis. Accomplishments? No. Ability? No. The only thing one can make an argument for is that Garcia appears more disciplined in the ring than Gamboa...and maybe he has a better trainer. That makes Mikey better than Yuri? It seems to me that the one being hyped here is Mikey Garcia.

Oh, and name the "overrated Cuban boxers who had skills and potential but never panned out," since you seem to know so many of them.
