Has 2011 been a disappointing year for boxing?

After watching this vid I believe most of the fights this year didnt live up to their hype.

    Bradley vs Alexander
    Cotto-Mayorga
    Klitschko-Haye
    Mosley-Pac
    Abraham-Ward
    Froch-Johnson

All this fights werent really exciting and will never become classics

Yes, this month has been horrible with cowards in Kelly Pavlik and Puto Guerrero cancelling fights that led to event cancellations which meant no boxing on HBO/SHO all of this month.

September will be a hot month, same with October

This year is not over. Remember last year? The first half completely ******, then near the end of the year it was awesome. I'm expecting the same this time around. The only fight I'm questionable about is Hopkins-Dawson. I have a feeling Dawson is gonna fight scared. The rest of the fights this year I'm excited for.

this year has had loads of decent fights..what the **** are you talking about?

Cotto/Mayorga and Frosh/Johnson were good fights in my opinion, decent on if you like watching boxing matches or people getting KO'ed and cut up.

OP is talking about the hyped fights like Haye-Klitschko and Bradley-Alexander. Fights like Berto-Ortiz and Donaire-Montiel weren't promoted much at all.

Well I expected Cotto to look beter against Mayorga thats why im kind of disapointed in that fight.

I believe Mayweather-Ortiz will be fight of the year.
            Cotto-Margarito will be great to.

Not really excited about Pac-Marquez and Froch-Ward.

Its been like this throughout the whole history of boxing, why would any knowledgeable fan get suckered into the hype. Haye/Klitch for example, Haye and Klitch have been in several non eventful fights and yet people thought that fight would have been amazing...

I think it's been a good year, on the whole.

                  Highlights for me:

Cotto and Mayorga had a good scrap.

Donaire's KO of Montiel was brutal and comical in equal measure.

Gamboa making Solis look like a rank amateur.

Robert Guerrero's boxing masterclass against Katsidis.

Erik Morales' outstanding performance against Maidana. Even though he lost, little Erik was the real winner there.

Victor Ortiz vs. Andre Berto was an exciting knockdown-fest.

JuanMa Lopez being exposed by Orlando Salido. If Lopez had been against Gamboa that night, the fight would have ended much sooner than the 8th round.

Jorge Arce's upset win over Vazquez Jr.

Bernard Hopkins proving all the doubters wrong to become the oldest man to ever win a world title.

All off the top of my head. I'm sure there's some I'm forgetting.

The 2 biggest fights Wlad vs Haye and Pacquiao vs Mosley stunk and that is what casual sports fans will talk about but real fans will focus on great fights like Wolak vs D-Rod, Berto vs Ortiz, Marquez vs Concepcion, Vazquez vs Arce, Rios vs Acosta and Maidana vs Morales.

And you have some great fights to look forward to later this year like

                    Gamboa vs Ponce De leon
                    Demarco vs Linares
                    Morales vs Matthysse
                    Froch vs Ward
                    etc
