I dont really see it as unprofessional.

I see it as more of a b1tch-move.

1.) it was ridiculous marketing Marquez as a competitive match-up just because he was ranked P4P #3 and coz he gave Pac fits..... the guy was a fkn lightweight, and boxing uses weight divisions for a reason

2.) catch-weight fights are a joke, and should be completely abolished. Catch-weight bouts were originally conceived to enable a match-up between two (usually) name fighters who would normally never meet because of weight disparity. They were called an "exhibition match" and there was never a title at stake.

3.) based on point #1 and point #2, that fight was nothing more than an exhibition match anyways, so who really cares?

4.) Beristain is a noob, Pacquiao would never get caught out like that. Marquez had to renegotiate for an extra $600k, so anybody who laughed at the seemingly ridiculous 3.5mil per-pound for the Hoya fight should give themselves an uppercut.

It was insurance to ensure that Manny was not physically out-matched, and nothing more, which is why they demanded 10mil per-pound for Mayweather, and which is why Mayweather immediately agreed.

Mayweather would have likely agreed if the demand was 100mil per-pound, because Floyd is a welter, the weight was 147, he has never failed to make the contracted weight in a fight, so nobody was ever going to get 1 red cent.

Catch weights pin the best against the best from different divisions, when ever one else is losing not a factor or on PEDS and not Obliging to reasonable offers...

Catch weights have been around since the beginning of boxing 'Irish boxing' was basically 2 guys any weight against each other... Boxing is a sport of warriors with skills, thus its called the sweet science, professionals, 105 to 255, have trained and garnered the strength and courage to enter the ring to battle...

Those who do sign contracts to fight at catch weights maybe 5,10 in this case 12 pounds 9 by contractual standards, are well aware of the risk... Some win Will Pep, SRR,etc, but because JMM got whooped abolish da ****, stop the press, hit the reset that didn't count... STOP it you guys are fans i box, Floyd, Juan, Victor box... weight aint a factor when the bell rings.............

Weight doesn't win fights...................skills win fights and Mayweather is the more skilled fighter.

                  Mayweather will stop Ortiz
