Comments Thread For: Sauerland Breaks Down Why Klitschko-Haye Happens
DAVID HAYE’S co-promoter Kalle Sauerland insists his man does not need to box again before facing WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko later this year or early in 2012.
It's funny how nobody gives Adamek a shot. They don't even go through with the formality of "if he beats Adamek in his next fight" instead it's just "after he fights Adamek on September 10." Keep sleeping on Adamek though people. He's obviously a huge underdog, but it's hard to imagine him doing any worse than Haye's pathetic performance against Wlad.

It's no surprise people give Adamek close to no chance of beating Vitali. After all, in one of his most recent fights, he was put on ***** street by old Michael Grant and barely made it to the final bell. Adamek hasn't achieved anything at HW besides beating Arreola, which was a very good win. He hasn't shown anything that makes us think he can upset Vitali. If he does, it will be a HUGE upset to me.

That doesn't make it good journalism (among other things).

Haye arguably won 2 rounds. I would be astonished if Adamek wins a single round against Vitali. It's true that he might show more heart than Haye did, but he does not have a Heavyweight punch or a Heavyweight chin, and although he is fairly skilled, he is less skilled than Vitali, and to beat Vitali on skills alone, or even to win a round, he'd have to be far more skilled than he is.
This article highlights a couple of realities of how dumb Gayevid is:
1) Gayevid voluntarily made himself a slave to Saureland for 4 fights after he was screaming about "slave contracts" with the Klitschkos. The Klistschkos were giving a 3 fight option to fight them and only them, the biggest money fights out there, instead Gayevid chose to become a slave to Saureland regardless of the fighters he faces.
2) In reality Gayevid did NOT make 50% of the net revenues off the Klitschko fight, but Wlad did. Cause Wlad has no masters, his only master is himself, Gayevid had to pay a share to Saureland and GBP.

Not sure how Adamek is less skilled than Vitali, but to each their own. Vitali is also quite shop worn and has shown some signs of slowing down (see Sosninski fight).
That's all pretty much beside the point though. My point has to do with people (including supposed journalists) completely writing him off as if he is nothing. Adamek might be undersized, especially against the likes of a Klitschko, but he is a hell of a fighter. Anyone who would deny that is just ignorant.

In any case, it does seem a bit misplaced to me that Haye would warrant so much respect, and Adamek is nothing. The entire frame almost sorta comes off as Vitali may have a showdown with Haye, just as soon as he brushes this nobody Adamek aside. Overall, Adamek is a more accomplished and proven fighter than Haye. Maybe not at heavyweight, but even there they aren't so entirely far apart as people would have it seem.
