Pacquiao more accurate puncher than Mayweather

Some people seem to think Mayweather is the most accurate puncher but the truth of the matter is that Pacquiao is more accurate than Mayweather.

Pacquiao throw more punches and is a combination puncher, both these things redcue accuracy. On top of this Pacquiao is a harder puncher and throws harder puncher, another thing that will effect accuracy.

We also have to forget about the jab as the jab is use to open a defence and find range, so it can be used effectively even though it is not landing.

Pacquiao also lands his punches right on the button, **** on the chin, Mayweather punches are more scoring punches.

Pacquiao landed an astonishing 50% of his power punches against Mosley while Mayweather landed an impresiive 46%, still 4 % less than Pacquiao. And Mosley was in defensive mode when facing Pacquiao and Pacquiao was throwing more punches than Mayweather.

There you have it the stats back up my theory and add to this Pacquiao throws more, hits harder and throws more combinations and higher punch combinations, you would have to agree Pacquiao is the more accurate puncher.

you're not accounting for the fact that almost all Mayweather's fights are 12 rounds and not all Pac's fights go the distance.

some fighters throw punches to set up bigger ones...ali, leonard, hearns, pac, etc....

these "set-up punches" more likely do not land plush or missed but put the opponent on the intended situation...

floyd is a master of very selective punching...

the difficulty in arriving at who has a higher percentage on punching is that;

ideally, every punch thrown should land, more squarely on target, the better..

realistically, not all punches thrown land on the target................................

some punches were blocked or just hit air............................................... ..

some fighters are good at throwing set up punches.....................................

some fighters are good at pin point punching..selective punching for higher accuracy.

a fighter may have higher punching accuracy than his opponent yet still lose the bout..

bcoz the losing fighter had very little punching volume or was kod or tkod first........

the sample is fighter A used 3 setting-up punches (that missed/were blocked) to land a 4th killer punch to the jaw/chin of figter B....who may even be the one leading on the score cards b4 the ko or tko......

the point is a punch or a combination of punches that ends the contest matters most...

getting the higher punching accuracy does not always = win...subject to the judges scoring the bout....

some judges give credits on all connected punches; others do not, specially if they felt that some of the connected punches are "a bunch of feather touches"....

I think Mayweather is more accurate with his punches I really don't see him missing his target all that much he doesn't throw punches just to throw them if he throws punches he makes them count .Just ask Marquez or Mosley.

Mayweather's style emphasizes accuracy, Pac's emphasizes creating openings and exploiting them. Both are incredibly accurate but Pac does "waste" more punches but like you said, they're wasted only to compubox as they are set-ups for his power punches. I believe his power punch connect rate is even higher than Mayweather's but I'd have to confirm that.

LOL ... Pacquiao has NEVER been accused of being accurate. Tenacious? Yes. Determined? Yes. Accurate? Hell no. Pacquiao has been known to throw 100 punches per round and land a quarter of that.

No one has to agree with anything. Facts are facts. Its no opinion that Mayweather is the most accurate boxer since the inception of Compubox. Questioning Compubox is as bad ... maybe even worse than challenging the integrity of USADA.

Manny Pacquiao throws the same jab, jab straight left hand that he's always thrown. Both his jabs usually miss and he rarely lands that straight left down the middle anymore. He's the same fighter he always was except all of a sudden he's got super stamina.

And if we are factoring in all elements, chew on this:

Mayweather isn't fighting dehydrated zombies who plod forward and don't have the legs to stick and move. How accurate would ANY boxer seem if they were fighting against guys whose legs were too weak to use lateral movement?

Pacquaio actually is one of the most accurate punchers in boxing. Part of the reason is that he uses angles, the volume and of course his speed.

Floyd is extremely selective with his shots, so I think that would give him an overall edge in connect % against most top level guys.

Different ways to consider the topic, though. For example, I don't think Floyd could land as many clean shots on most opponents as Pac does no matter how aggressive he chose to be.

Mayweather is more accurate and that he throws less combos. Pacquiao throws more combos more punches land and more punches can miss actually. I'm not nuthugger but I believe Gambeino once said prior to the Cotto fight that if you don't show Pacquiao any movement he'll eat you alive. Floyd will be showing him some movement.

hatton only lasted 2 rounds, margs was a punching bag, same as dlh and clottey. maybe their last 15 fights would be better, but still, nice try. mayweather's the more accurate puncher, and honestly it doesn't matter because all manny needs is one punch to knock mayweather off balance and than hopefully for him, he can take it from there...
