Im watching Williams vs Lara for the first time, and Im in round 3....

Williams: 19/104, 18%
Lara: 19/ 48, 40%

Round 11 - punch stats

Williams: 13/89, 15%
Lara: 18/48, 38%

I don't see it and the stats say otherwise....Lara was clearly more effective and much more efficient...ala Mayweather...who never loses.

to me those stats proved what I said. In round 10 they landed the same amount of punches. One guy was very accurate and the other outhrew him by 250% You dont think that averages out at all?

Also, dont forget that the punches landed stats doesnt tell the whole story. If Williams hits you on the arm or shoulder then it counts as a blow that didnt land but a person still adds that up if you watch it. Its like a trainer telling a brawler to "keep touchin him. Arms, shoulders, or whatever. You'll break him down eventually".

I didnt think a prime Margarito had a chance in hell of beating Floyd but alot of people did. Now even the biggest Margarito fans know that the punch stat numbers would be totally lopsided in terms of percentage but they figure Margarito is going to throw way more and he's going to "keep touchin Floyd" and eventually it will offset Floyd's tremendous accuracy advantage.

If 20 seconds go by and Williams has thrown 25 punches and Lara has thrown 7, it adds up even if the accuracy is there. I also dont recommend anyone watching fihgts with the volume down. You still want to hear the sound of the punches & action period. You just have to be mentally strong enough to tune the commentators out and make your own decision

Once again, I scored it 9-3, but there were some close rounds. It could have easily been 8-4, but no worse than 7-5. Lara clearly won. CLEARLY. Anyone who argues this, should never watch boxing again. (Or at least score another fight.)

I had it 3, 4, and 10 to Williams and the rest to Lara, or 9-3 Lara. I thought it was pretty clear even though the announcers were pretty dramatic with their phrases. I don't think it influenced my card. Lara landed so many clean lefts and Williams' activity wasn't enough to counter Lara's stick and move tactics.
