Floyd tell everyone why you don't fight out of Vegas? Because the hand shots to numb your hands are illegal every else outside of Vegas. So you cheating other boxers and helping to enhance by having hands that you can't feel anything pain when you punch a guy. It's legal in Vegas but illegal outside Vegas. Floyd finally looks his age in the face. As much as many expect another Mayweather virtuoso performance, time does not stand still and having 3 fights in 2 years could catch up. Floyd is great but realize that Berto was fast and hits harder than Mayweather. Ortiz has youth, big power, is VERY strong, and can pressure non-stop.

Floyd finally looks his age in the face. As much as many expect another Mayweather virtuoso performance, time does not stand still and having 3 fights in 2 years could catch up. I thought Ellerbe was supposedly kicked out...anyway I'm lookin forward to this, Ortiz is a good young champ and deserves his time in the sun and I love watching Floyd fight so seein him back in the ring is great for me personally and for the sport, as he brings a huge amount of attention to Boxing.

It would be great for Ortiz to put on a good show and gain a good fanbase win, lose or draw as that can only help Boxing as a sport.

The only attention the Floyd brings to boxing is people wanting to see him lose.

Pacquiao fought De La Hoya at 147LBS (DLH didn't fight at 147 in almost 10YRS)

Pacquiao fought Cotto at 145LBS for a 147LBS title (but why DLH at 147LBS?)

Pacquiao fought Margarito at 150LBS for a 154LBS title

Freddie Roach just stated they would fight Martinez IF Martinez drops to 147LBS (why not 154LBS if Manny holds a title at 154LBS?)

all those FACTS are the reasons.

Pacquiao could fight Carlos Baldomir and Sharmba Mitchell but it does not make Ortiz a better fighter.

Ortiz is 25, as Hopkins(46) has proved and Benitez(17) that age is no substitute for for talent of skill.

Power, you need the skill to land that power or it is not nearly effective. (See Tua)

And Ortiz does not have exceptional power, couldn't finish off Maidana, or Petterson.

Strong, what does that have to do with is? Mayweather himself has said it not a bench pressing contesting they are doing.

It is marketed as star power, and thats what Ortiz's best attribute, his marketability and his popularity.
