Christ sake, everyone is hyped on the back of him beating Berto but Berto was a paper champ.
Ortiz's problems are all mental. Hopefully the big opportunity that this is will mean it won't be a problem this time; he seemed to excel under the pressure against Berto.

I'm not calling Ortiz great by any means. But you can argue that he's the biggest legit threat to Floyd RIGHT NOW, as almost any has been in his career.

I don't think hoy a or hatton were as legit threats as Ortiz is now, even gate was way overmatched.

Not that Floyd Is older, game done changed a bit. He's not prime no more.
Outside of Martinez or Pacquiao Ortiz is the biggest threat. I'll give you that. He has some things going his way.

The lefty stance (Floyd aint fought a lefty in 5 years.)
      Ortiz has some good power.
Ortiz showed heart as of late.
Ortiz will bring the fight to him.

But Mayweather is a guy who is so skilled that even he lost all his athletcism over night he would still pull BHOPS and just outhink people to death.

The last legit threat to Floyd was Judah IMO. So yeah, I'm gonna get excited for Ortiz as sad as that is.

I also think Ortiz has hit a bit of a turning point in his career. You forget he's very young, and still gaining ring experience. He may not of been where we expected him to be, it doesn't mean he can't get there.

Ripping fighters over a few bad fights is my biggest pet peeve. Even Floyd lost to Castillo. Once he learned from his mistakes he became the best. All fighters go through it, whether it's televised or not is the difference.

I agree with the out thinking part. But old fighters sticking around in boxing is a new phenomenon.

Historically this is how upcoming fighters become the new stars. By beating old fighters just past there prime.

Which is why we have none. The old stars don't fight fresh bodies. So were stuck recycling old names. not saying by any means Floyd will lose. But if your Ortiz, your getting an opportune ity no young fighter in boxing has got.

              Jones
              Hopkins
              Calzaghe
              Pacman
              Floyd
              Cot to
              Hatton
              Etc etc

None of them fought young fighters towards the tail end of there careers. Therefore, no new stars.

Where is Floyd and PAC if they dint fight hoya?

He doesn't take risks anymore. He could've finished Mosley off, but he was scared of being hit with anything significant.

Ortiz would make him stand in front of him.
