    By Thomas Gerbasi - History has shown that Bernard Hopkins is probably not the guy you want to get angry. You only need to look at the face of William Joppy after their world middleweight championship bout in 2003 for proof of that.

    Bruised and misshapen beyond recognition, Joppy’s face showed the effects of 12 rounds with a fighter intent on nothing more than punishment. A $50,000 bet between the two that Hopkins would knock Joppy out was the catalyst between the two rivals, and “The Executioner?did everything in his power to earn that bounty. He didn’t, but he did leave a message for those who tried to engage with him on a level beyond a mere sporting event.

    Few, if any, did after that night in Atlantic City. Sure, there was the usual gamesmanship and trash talking that has become a staple of Hopkins?pre-fight schtick, but no one crossed the line until Jean Pascal did earlier this year when, at a press conference announcing their bout tomorrow night in Montreal, he called on Hopkins to take a pre-fight drug test, insinuating that the 46 year old wonder was making boxing history in a less than legit manner.       A lot of what Hopkins said of Pascal applies to Floyd Mayweather. Both Pascal and Mayweather have made unfounded accusations. Neither Hopkins nor Pacquiao are willing to give the accusers the validation or the satisfaction by taking their tests.

      People who are supporting what Hopkins is saying, must also support Pacquiao in the Mayweather-testing dispute. Both Pascal and Mayweather have attempted to draw into question the legacy and achievements of the other fighters. Hopkins is right, such actions are worse- for a professional boxer- than finding someone in your house, in your bed, with your wife, naked.

      Hopkins might really kick the living sh$t out of Pascal on Saturday night. Pacquiao will be looking to do the same to Mayweather if the chance ever comes.

      Aside- Mayweather needs to be aware that Mosley can't even remember the end of the third round, the fourth, nor the fifth. That dude checked out for two and a half rounds- say what you will about the fight.

        Only if he fights very differently from the last fight.
        Hopkins beat him from the fourth round on and did far more damage.
        Hopkins made him look very ordinary indeed.

                I cant wait until Pascal knocks this old bum out. Bhop can only talk with his mouth, in the ring he is the grandfather of the Andre Ward/Direll fighting system.

                BHOP Could cure Insomnia with all his fights, if it wasnt for the other fighter in the ring everyone would fall asleep by round 2.

                Run around for 12 rounds throwing 1-2 punches and headbutting/lowblowing while complaining to the ref at the same time. Maybe if he wasnt such a coward he would have some fans and wouldnt need to travel to other countries to fight.

                What else to expect from a self-acclaimed RACIST/CRACKHEAD/CRIMINAL?

                You should retire and teach "How to Headbutt/Lowblow and Complain 101" at a local boxing school.

                You will be fighting till 60 years old homie, need that crack money!

                  hopkins has to be the most bogus so called "champion" in all of sports...

                  here's a cat who entered boxing as a lightheavyweight, scaled down to middle to beat up on a weak division, lost to the two most significant fighters in the division in jones and taylor, and talks like he's been slaughtering equally sized, equally talented fighters all his career....all of his losses are always everybody else's fault...

                  you would have thought he lined up and slaughtered jones, toney, nunn, calzaghe, taylor, wright, jackson, mclellan, etc. in this so-called great middleweight defense streak of his

                  they talk about how he beat joppy, but failed to mention joppy was already ruined by tito trinidad by the time hopkins fought him...the fact that hopkins didn't even come close to ko'ing joppy when it only took tito what, 5 or 6 rounds tells you joppy wasn't all that great to begin with...prior to that, you couldn't get hopkins to mention joppy when they both were beltholders in the 90's...

                  as far as pascal goes, hopkins should be counting his blessings that he gets another decent payday in a fight where he was able to pull to a draw in a fight where he was knocked down 2x, he defiintely didn't have pascal in danger of being ko'd, so all this talk of killing him is hilarious...

                  this article must have been written by hopkins cousins or prison buddies or something because it is too one sided...
