    Maidana sparks him again.

Berto was always an overrated, overprotected bum so Ortiz beating him should have no impact on a fight with Maidana.

    Maidana by brutal k.o again.

      Exactly.

Vic has moved on, that fight would be nothing more than a curiosity match.

It should still happen imho, a couple more pic's will fire things up maybe?

Vic should rematch Maidana, but only at 147, and only if his schedule is clear.

Obviously, if he get's a better offer..... then he should take it.

Chino should get the opportunity - if he wants it - but he does not get to walk straight to the front of the queue now. That fight would be a curiosity match, Vic should slot it in somewhere as a stay-busy fight and keep gunning for the top guys at 147.

I mean, Kahn dropped Maidana in the first round. Morales was putting it on Maidana with one eye and arguably won the fight. From what I have heard Peterson is not that bad of a fighter. I will check it out on youtube. Anyway, I think Maidana should move up to 147 if he wants to fight Ortiz. Shouldn't be difficult for him considering he has a lanky frame. Plus, Ortiz is the champion so he has the right to ask him to move up for a shot at his title. Doubt if Victor moves down to fight him because he already stated that 147 is where he is going to stay.

Hahahaha thats hilarious. I think Ortiz can win a rematch if he fights the right fight. But until then, Maidana is still his Daddy

No way man...Since Maidana it's been Antonio Diaz (10 years past it), Nate Cambell and Vivian Harris (TOTALLY shot-to-****), Alcatorre (16-8), and Peterson, who is a good fighter, but can't break an egg. I respect his win over Berto big-time...had I been at the window, my dollars wouldv'e confidently been placed on the Haitian. However, Victor didn't quit against against Maidana per-se...he quit against HEAVY PRESSURE - something Berto didn't employ last weekend. Maidana on the other hand took one of the sport's true young talents life and death, smashed a (24-0) Cayo, and held tough in the championship rounds against one of Mexico's ATG's. I think you're giving Ortiz MUCH TOO MUCH credit, while dismissing what Maidana has done in the same time period.

wasn't Maidana offered the Berto fight?

also its Funny how Maidana turned down the rematch when he was the interim champion and had something to lose and now he wants the rematch. anyway make it happen at 147 this will be the best fight right now for both boxers

I like Ortiz but THIS was funny! haha! Ortiz, you HAVE to fight this guy. Maybe not next, take a tune up then make it happen. At 147.

Ok, I hear and feel you fam but lets look at it like this. Ortiz performance against Berto was a ground breaking one in another division. I saw the first fight with Maidana and Ortiz had it but he opted to go for the KO but had he continued to box then Maidana would have been beat. I look at it more as a learning lesson for Ortiz. Sure Maidana is strong and he can fight but in a rematch, I feel like Victor Ortiz would smash him but I would rather see it then assume but if I had to place a bet it would be on Ortiz. People are saying Berto is over hyped but I also bet the guys Maidana fought probably couldn't hang with him. Berto is going to get better from this loss. He was lunching too much but Berto has talent. Just needs a new focus and corner. Curious to see Maidana 's next move.
