Because like I just said he has proved nothing,I'm not gonna preach against one(Berto)and the other..I really not in the habit of supporting fighters to get a shot at big time without proving anything..Jones is interesting so is Karass(unlike Berto he won't be tired he will be in Ortiz face)even his Mandatory ya know..But to just enter the Pac sweepstakes and don't earn it is wack imo..

Who has proven something lately other than Ortiz who Manny could fight at 147 after Mosley??

seriously think about it. If Manny continues to campaign at 147 and it's not Mayweather, Ortiz is the only viable opponent left??? Or perhaps you'd like to name some names??

Mayweather vs Ortiz

OR

MP vs Ortiz.


Give Vic his chance. Boxing needs to create new stars, he is the best option. He resonates with the largest fan base, is bilingual and has a fan friendly style. If he can knock one of these guys off we have a new star.

Cotto, Manny and Floyd are the top 3 atm in terms of drawing in the fans...these three will all be gone withing 2 or 3 years. As long as Ortiz gets his shot to knock one off the sport wil be in better shape when they go.

If Manny fights anybody out of GBP it should be JMM he has earned it..You should never be tired of young fighters having to prove their worth,that's a big reason why Berto had that belt for three yrs and did not prove anything..Because he feels he did not have to..

I'm not saying he has to fight the whole WW div,but he should have at least two fights against legit threats imo..

See what ya said in this post,give Vic a chance..This is boxing nothing should be given it must be earned..Its something I always loved about boxing you your self must earn it..This is his chance to do just that..I always came at Berto because he never challenge himself but was looking for big money fights,I have to do the same to Ortiz..TBH you should to..

Ortiz is ready. He's got good boxing skills and wont be a sitting target for Pacquiao. It would be a fight Pac could very well lose. He's faster than Cotto and 10x the boxer that Margarito is. He showed us that he's exciting and willing to put it on the line. I love the possibility of this fight happening.

Was it his fight against Maidana or Peterson which makes ya think he is ready for a Pac or Mayweather??I like Ortiz and think in a few fights he could be ready,and that's why he should fight a few fights to prove he is..
