WBC International Flyweight champ Diosdado "Prince" Gabi is the premier flyweight of the Phils. He'll be fighting this Sunday 19-December-2004 for the WBF Flyweight belt in Davao City. Next year, he'll be in Larry Holmes' gym to train hopefully for some big fights with either Pongsaklek or Parra. A showdown with Brian Viloria could happen in between.

Against Brian Viloria? Damn Gabi will be in for a very rough ride if that happens. I'm praying for him this early.

Is there any way that a clash between Gabi and Viloria can be avoided at this time?

I just think it would be a lot nicer if each gets to win a piece of the World Flyweight title, go on a decent number of defenses, then unify it.

            In Manila too...!

Gabi is your pick, eh, pal?

I haven't seen any of Gabi's fights--live or on tape. He must be really good for you to pick him over Viloria!

First time I heard of the name was, I think, through a thread by mai.pen.rai... around September...I'm not too sure. Anyway, I've asked some of my friends in RP to send me tapes of Gabi, but they haven't managed to do it. Does he appear much on Philippine TV? There are many boxing shows on free commercial TV there... What are his wares? Good punch? How does he fight?
