I think he was on his way to a loss but the man was punching back,premature stoppage big time,by the way did juanma look beat before the fight dude looked like he had been doing lines all week.

Nah dude. A better man won and a stoppage was appropriate. The ref was looking real close at this. Contrary to press row and judges, I had Salido ahead at the time of stoppage. Juanma looks real sluggish. Maybe all the shots he had taken is taking a toll on him. Or he just got outbox plain and simple.

Ropes were holding no one up Juanma had threw a punch right beforew the right where they stopped the fight,the man is an undefeated world champion let him go out like one.

you're just in denial...juanma's fighting on mere instinct at that point of stoppage. just let it go...juanma's still young and could still come back in other fights but not in that fight.

I would not have stopped it, Its the champ, let him go out on his sheild, plus he's fighting back, and he has KO power a plenty. I'd have let it continue on for a bit longer.

However, i think the stoppage was fine, the ref probably wasn't thinking about all these other factors like I am, in his mind its probably just "This kid is getting killed in here, if he takes another big punch or two, i'm stopping it"

Paulie was the same fighter I used as an example elsewhere... If it was Paulie Malinagginanigiainalllaini taking those shots, then i'd stop the fight, but with a guy that can slip one punch in there and end it or turn things around, i'm not going to stop the fight if he's fighting back. Even if it is on instinct.

A few shots from Juanma would have done nothing. He was out on his feet, punching weakly, and Salido had already walked through his harder punches. Fair stoppage. Juanma was going nowhere but the canvas.

the ref was up close and he saw something that you didn't. juanma landed a punch but did it have any effect on salido? not at all so obviously the ref was more looking at the punches being absorbed by juanma.
