Pac officially moved up to welterweight from November 2009 up to this date. So it was like more than a year ago. From November 2009 up to May 2011 by then Pac already fought Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and Mosley. Now you said Pac cherrypicked his opponents. Will you tell us who Pac should fought at welterweight better than these guys above from November 2009 up to this date who you think could really beat Pac except Floyd who doesn't want any part of Pac. Who are these guys? Berto, Zaveck, Ortiz, Jones, Quali, Senchenko, Alvarado, Brook? etc...and please don't talk about 144 Pac ducking 154 & 160 guys!

On the othe side of the coin, When Pac moved up at lighweight, light welterweight and welterweight, his very first fight in every division were immediately against a champion with no bull**** tune up crap while Floyd did some tuned up fights first at 135, 140 and 147. Do the math.

Pacquiao has already said, he can't go up to 154.

The last time he weighed during the Margarito fight was 144lbs. He already gave up the belt because he realized that he can't continue in that division.

Is it hard to understand that the guy has limits also? You people are just asking too much.
the reason haters want Pac to fight Sergio in 154 lbs because they want to see Pac lose..not because they want to see a great fight..so simple. Pac already moved up 8 divisions and feel that 154 lbs would be too much for him. Haters will always hate..

pac already decided that he can't deal with 154, so he didn't bother defending his belt and dropped it.

why do some people here live in the past and think that Pac STILL has that 154 belt?

You also forgot where Pacquiao waited until Martinez called him out to vacate. Because apparently people think that.

I try to stay out of these threads, but it's amazing how many people refuse to consider that Pacquiao, with nearly 60 pro fights and having moved 7 divisions now just can't fight at 154. I would love to see him take this risk but people are blasting him like he can easily fight at 154 and just won't because he's scared of Martinez. If he does fight Martinez, that's amazing. If he doesn't, well I wish it could happen but it's pretty obvious why it isn't.

Same thing with Mayweather, yeah he is a little bigger than Pacquiao but he is nearing the end of his career and has settled in 4 divisions above where he started. If he decided to fight Martinez, I'm stoked but again it's pretty obvious why it likely won't happen.

Pac doesn't want anymore of these big guys after Margarito all most knocked him out.. + the fact that Martinez has skills/speed something which Margarito surely doesn't

where can you read of pac waiting until Martinez called him out to vacate?

immediately after fighting Margarito, Manny already felt the result of fighting even at catchweight of 150!

his hands were so swollen that he couldn't even sign autographs and had to be hospitalized the very next day for severe body pains.

compare that to his fight with cotto when he had a concert the very night he beat cotto. it was obvious Pac couldn't deal with the 154 weight class in that fight with margarito and from that time on, they decided to campaign at 147 downwards.

IF Pac/Martinez would actually happen at 154 where most people want them to fight, Martinez will:

                1. be 17 to 21 lbs heavier.
                2. have a 3 1/2 inch height advantage
                3. have a 8 inch reach advantage

what kind of fighter would be foolish enough to fight with those odds?

You can't read it anywhere, but people believe it anyway. Pacquiao was pretty adament after fighting a not so good 154 pounder at 150 that he would never try it again, and it had nothing to do with Martinez. People don't want to believe that though, so I guess let them hate.

He oughta fight Martinez for the middleweight strap. There is nothing for Manny to lose, and no shame if he does.

What does height have to do with anything? Margarito can make 147 and that was the original weight the Pacquiao fight was supposed to take place but the WBC intervened and made Tony the #1 contender for their JMW belt (as did the WBA).

Don't know what you're trying to say by listing their heights. Tony can make 147-150... so can Sergio, right?

The man weighed 148 lbs IN THE RING for a JMW fight, but he should fight at 160 against a guy who will be 175ish in the ring?

Pac must be the baddest dude who ever walked the Earth...
