Win or lose, McCloskey set to make MORE money then Khan !!!

AMIR KHAN has vowed the show will go on even though he could end up fighting for NOTHING at Manchester's MEN Arena on Saturday night.

The world light welterweight champion defends his WBA title against Irishman Paul McCloskey who will pocket MORE than Khan win or lose.

Khan's bout against his unbeaten opponent was originally scheduled as a pay per view fight on Sky TV earning him upwards of an estimated £1.5million.

But the satellite broadcaster ditched the fight as a PPV event following rows about the undercard and offered Khan a flat fee in the region of £150,000.

That was refused and Khan's camp have significantly annoyed bosses at Sky switching to Primetime TV in the hope of gaining maximum exposure.

But after expenses, including McCloskey's fight fee of around £150,000 and TV broadcast costs of over £100,000 are taken, Khan will almost certainly be out of pocket.

However, he insisted: "The fight is still on and not for one day did I think that it would be off.

"I've trained 100 per cent for this fight. It will definitely go ahead because you have two hungry fighters in myself and Paul who want to put on a show."

Khan reckons he has also been shielded from the behind the scenes rows and that he is totally focused on beating McCloskey.

He added: "My team kept me out of everything that's been going on and I have just concentrated on my training."
