I'm a Barrera guy TBH, but I have a lot of respect for Morales.

Despite having declined a lot physically, it was great to see him pull out some of the old tricks. On a skill level, he's better than every JWW out there.

theres no doubt morales is a warrior but i dont agree he would've stopped maidana in his prime at 140.....i dont think morales would've been a bigger puncher than khan or ortiz and them guys wer not able to stop marcos.....he most likely would've Udecision him in his prime tho...

Morales at this age and stage of his career hurt Maidana BAD....

Morales in his prime would have stopped him, there's no doubt. In the past, hurting someone like he did, he would have been relentless.

This is the sort of **** I hate to read. Maidana is a top 5 JW. He arguably beat Kotelnik, beat Ortiz and almost knocked out Khan.

Yes he is a limited brawler and Erik exploited his weaknesses. But by calling him a bum/D level you are just denigrating Morales' achievement last night when he was clearly shot but still put on an incredible performance.

not sure what a rematch will prove. I dunno if morales can improve on his performance.

true but lets not forget maidana feeds on fighters who trades....he would've hit morales more if erik did'nt box so him being relentless would've favored maidana more since he'd give away his advantage of being the better boxer....

Morales was always my fav Mexican fighter and I had a quiet confidence that he would show some greatness in the first 3-4 rounds before getting pounded out in the rest of the fight. I'm happy he put it on Maidana like this, who seemed befuddled at times. I don't think he needs to rematch Maidana. Nothing to prove there, move on to other things and snag a title.

I'd love to see him fight JMM and close that chapter and retire the greatest modern mexican fighter
