It's like this my boxing friend. Back when Floyd said he would fight Oscar. The fight had ZERO chance of being made and Floyd knew it. So saying you would fight someone at the time knowing said fight will not happen means nothing. Oscar was the cash cow and Floyd was envious of him. So he piggybacked off of that.

That version of Mosley was still a competitive fighter, although had Cotto fought Mosley anywhere near his prime you know Cotto would of got KTFO. The fact Mayweather beat Mosley a good few years after Cotto who he would of destroyed in his prime at WW, says it all. Mosley always had his power which is the last thing a fighter loses, but you could see in his workrate that he couldn't sustain his attacks due to age. ODH fought Floyd at the ealriest possible time considering how their careers were playing out.

Until 2001, he was a welter, floyd a 130lber who didnt have buzz like mosley and didnt move up weightclasses.

From 2001 to 2003, Oscar was a jr middle floyd was a lightweight.

In 2004 Oscar was a middleweigh fatso, part time fighter, floyd was a jr welter.

2005 Oscar was retired

2006 for the first time ever Oscar and floyd were only one weightclass apart, and Floyd was p4p #1-Oscar immediatly fights him next year, no inbetween fight.

With Shane its pretty similar in the sense that the fight couldnt have happened before 2007. And Shane's resurgance was fast done as he lost by 2007 already. And was fighting once a year.


That's the same as saying floyd couldve fought tszyu-casamayor-freitas-marg-cotto-pac and its all floyds fault they didnt...except with those guys they were in the same weightclasses.
