people don't hate berto they hate his career. He's a paper champ who is grossly overpaid fighting lesser opponents, three of the opponents he's defended his title against have came up from 140 pounds. People just want to see him fight live opponents and challenge himself for a change.

Respectable answer. I feel the same way. But honestly if u were paid to fight a bum who u know u can outclass would u do it? And who's fault is it? The fighter or the people paying him?

It's because he's overpaid and the fact that he's been in our TVs for the past 3-4 years and hasn't fought a top fighter. Collazo, who is a very good fighter, but not p4p material was the best guy he ever faced. And Berto barely won that fight.
Ortiz is his best opponent since Collazo, and he's yet another 140 pounder moving up to challenge for Berto's "title."
I personally have nothing against Berto, and I actually like him as he's a pretty exciting fighter most of the time, but the guy needs to step it up and fight some real competition. He's the easily one of the most protected fighters around. I can't blame people for getting tired of hearing his name when he's fighting cans.

Look at Cavs, they recently beat the heat despite the heat playing well and we all know the Cavs suck. In the end it's about motivation.
