Only Lopez has the questionable chin. Gamboa has flash knockdowns from being off balance and carelessness. Lopez on the other hand has been out on his feet at least two times. BIG difference.

Lopez is also the only one of the two that has been tested. JuanMa showed a lot of heart in finishing against Mtagwa. Gamboa has torn through most of his opponents and has never been in trouble (more on that in a moment). If a contest between Yuri and JuanMa turns into a war, I truly hope Gamboa has the stones to hang-in and pull out the victory. Lopez has already demonstrated he can.

As for Gamboa's "questionable chin": most, if not all, of his knockdowns have been of the "flash" variety, where he was caught off-balance. I think I've seen all of Yuri's fights, and I don't remember him ever appearing hurt or dazed. Touching the canvass a few times in your career doesn't necessarily make you glass-jawed (just ask "Tito" Trinidad), getting KTFO a few times does.

I saw the same gamboa. with a limited fighter in front of him who lacked the ability to make it competitive fight and let a really good fighter dominate him.

A fan with a seasoned eye, will know what to look for before they begin praising a fighter for beating a guy like Solis.

Bottom line is Juanma and Gamboa both have chin issues. They both hit hard.. its a 50/50 fight people have short term memory issues and forget some of the spectacular KO's that Juanma has on his records Een more spectacular than last nights KO.

C'mon Juanma! The "boxing is a business so it's up to my promoter" crap only goes so far. There's always an excuse. What about telling Arum to make the fight or you won't resign with him? Arum is also Montiel's promoter and he put him in vs an astronomically high risk(talentwise)-low reward(fan base) Donaire. Same business. Same business and promoter when Oscar fought loaded wraps Cheato Tito in his 4th division. Same business when JM Marquez fought Mayweather by jumping up 2 divisions. We also heard the same excuses about Caballero when JML and he were the best of the jr feathers.
