Do you feel that even though you were born in the Philippines, that your being a California resident in any way softens or takes away from your Filipino support?

I think that in some ways, that some of the native Filipinos look at me the same way that the Mexicans sometimes look at Oscar De La Hoya, I guess. There is an issue. They want more guys that are living on the Island.

But you know, I was born there and I was raised there and spent some of my life there. I think that it doesn't really necessarily matter what or who you are, as long as you have it in your heart to be proud of who you are.

And that's who I am. I bring the flag and I swing the flag. Ever since I was younger and an amateur here in the United States, I've always flown the flag and I've always been proud of my Filipino heritage because that's who I am.

I love how Arum immediately try to pit Pacquiao vs Donaire in the public eye, even it's not true just because he left top rank. He was calling Donaire the next Pac just weeks ago. Honestly I believe Donaire has a skill set to carry him very high in the sport, and it's a only a matter of time before it's recognized on a level close to Pac.

Arum missed out on a great opportunity. A great example of how badly Arum promoted Donaire was by announcing that a possible fight with Moreno was headed to Atlantic City instead of the Bay Area, where there's a large contingent of Filipinos, let alone where he's from. IMO, that would've basically halted the momentum carried over from the Montiel fight.

In the end, I feel Donaire made the right decision if the deal with GBP goes through. It made sense with fighters like Mares, possibly Moreno at Bantamweight, and if he decides to move up, there's Chris John. It also helps when GBP is in cahoots with HBO.

                  Actually.....

they'd love to imagine doing things with his wife..

or love to do things while looking at his wife..

                  etc., etc.

i mean c'mon. his wife IS hot, regardless of her personality.

actually, i think it goes both ways.

its no accident that donaire had problems with his family...
                      which he fixed.

then had problems with the philippine media...
                      which he fixed also

NOW he has problems with Top Rank...
                      fix pending.

the fact is, all those problems above would not have been problems in the first place if donaire exercised a little discretion and tact in his dealings with them.

if donaire had problems with Top Rank, who's to say he won't have the very same problems with Golden Boy?

I mean, both Top Rank and Golden Boy are simply two sides of the same coin to be honest.

in the case of Donaire, in other words, if in every place you go the place stinks, its either the whole world stinks, or there is something wrong with your nose, or a little of both.
