he played it way too safe against a guy who was there for nothing more than a paycheck. There were literally time lapses where you got the sense Victor was treating him like he was top tier opposition. Considering the level of opponent you would have expected him being a little more daring

I honestly feel that Ortiz needs to hang em up for a year or two. I really like this mexican kid. I feel he has alot of heart and has certain 'IT' qualities to make him into a star, however he has zero confidence in himself right now and that's going to translate into a fearful ass whupping, either by Berto or someone else.

I also don't like the way they are matching him up either. I'm all for giving out hard fights, but he was tested physically and emotionally. He did the best he could and lost. But he they should have brought him back little by little, baby steps. Getting the viscious back into his game. Put him on ESPN as a headliner, some FNF or Telefutura fights. But he went to Peterson, who I think is a quality fighter, and he fought timidly. He's going up against Berto now, who is bigger and stronger.

He's young enough where he can go away for a minute, get busy with other options, while searching for that Tigerblood that Charlie Sheen is on, then make a comeback. So yes, to answer your question, he is at that point

                dude what do you call

                Antonio Diaz
                Hector Alatorre
                Nate Campbell
                Vivian Harris?

if that's not little by little nothing is

they gave him a chance to grow back into his "vicious" mode.

ever think it's actually him and not everyone else around him?

Yes, I feel like that too. He has been hail as the next big thing for a while now, After his lackluster performaces against Maidana he seem to have change his style which hasnt been favourable with a lot of fight fans, GBP has done a lot for him in feeding him shot but known name fighters and i think now they just want to throw him in there with Berto and just hope for the best outcome.

he reminds me of the kid who was raised easy because he was so talented in whatever he did. Given lots of leeway, given the best chances to succeed, deflecting any blame off them etc etc.

the one thing you cannot teach is how to handle adversity when it strikes. You either fight or flight

Ortiz has shown more flight than fight and in this business that's unacceptable

Oritz is going to end up like Baby Bull.
                      End of Story.

Berto is going to murder this kid. Rios will finish him off (if it ever happens...& if Rios works on his ******** defense).

I really hope Ortiz pulls it off , but I doubt it.
