Pretty interesting and informative look behind the mind of a promoter.

Summary:
*Is adamant about an Andy lee fight, but it isn't set in stone.
*Martinez is too small for 168
*Martinez could easily come down to 154 and is much closer to that weight devision than 168
*He's not going to have him fight guys weighting 185 at fight night just to satisfy some boxing nerds because it won't sell.
*He'll have Martinez go to 168 mid next year only if a big star emerges out of the super six.
*Won't entertain a Kirklan match until Kirkland beats a big name.
*Kirland has wasted his HBO hype by going to jail and is a degenerate.
*Would love to fight Strum, but it doesn't seem likely for July at least. He's still talking to him.
*Even if he could get Sturm, he isn't his first choice because Martinez is coming off five tough fights.
*Martinez said Dzinziruk was his toughest fight up to date.
*Angulo is in hiding and seems unlikely for July.
*Dibella would have Martinez fight Chavez in his mom's back yard in Mexico if he has to.
*Martinez vs Dzinziruk sold 3900 seats in a 4000 seat room.
*Doesn't criticize Pacquiao for not wanting Sergio. Admits he's too big.
*Thinks Mayweather is the best p4p and Sergio wouldn't disagree.
*Wants Mayweather, but doesn't think it's going to happen.
*Strurm is starting to care a bit about American exposure.
*Sturm just started his promotional company so it seems unlikely he'll fight Martinez right now because he doesn't want it to start off bad.
*With the rep Dzinziruk has outside of the United States, the majority of European matchmakers thought Dibella was an idiot for taking the fight.
*Less likely Sturm will fight Sergio after what he saw.
TL;DR: It's about the money and reaching wider audiences.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 03-17-2011, 02:37 AM.

Either he sold 3900 tickets and only 2200 people came or he only sold 2200 tickets
Im thinking the latter
