The fat, aging, Lennox put on the performance of a lifetime against the dominant champ of the next era.

The doctor saved Vitali's life and legacy by stopping the fight when he did. Look at the photo to the left. You will notice that the cut was beginning to form a circle around the eye and Vitali wouldve lost a significant part of his face if it continued.

The next photo shows the depth of the cut. While it is easy for a cut like that to heal, its also easy for it to get dangerously worse during a fight. The doctor allowed Vitali to go 3 more rounds after seeing this, which is insane.

If you look real close you can see part of his brain...

yEAH... AND name me another fighter that would still keep fighting & coming forward taking heavyweight bombs with his face all slashed up & his vision reduced to 20/60 at best.

You haVE a dude who quits on his stool AFTER 9 rds with a comfortable 8-1 margin across the boards but Did NOT want to risk his shoulder despite going up against one of the lightest featherfisted fighters in heavyweight history.. then you have the complete opposite where he risks his face coming off & his eye dangling out of it's socket..taking bombs from of the hardest punchers in boxing history with out his full line of vision for the last half of the fight..

So what's it going to be..is he a quitter with lack of heart or does he have too much heart? Logic states the only answer can be the latter as you have 2 extreme scenarios here.. coincidentiaLLY those are his only 2 losses.

If we were to replace both fights & exchange the opponents & Lewis doing major damage & Vitali pulls a quit job..then you could question his heart as he's getting tagged by "the strongest boxer of alltimE" & The No mas tag is justified.. but to pull a No mas when he's tapping that a$$ for the majority of 9 rds & his shoulder is in complete pain..relinquishing his coveted title because of that pain & then to be labeled with all the OTHER heartless quitters who quit on there stool because they were having there ass handed to them is a disgrace.

He gave up his 100% KO ratio in that fight on a platter & was willing to die in that ring that night vs Lewis to prove all the jerkoffs who had the audacity to question his heart that night against Byrd... Why DON'T you show THE blood pumping in his heart vessels instead of the blood around his face... i guarantee you..it's much more substantial>>> kapish!

ALOT OF PEOPLE felt ****** that night at Staples Center as the thinking before the fight from fans all over the world & his opponent was that he was one big *****. 6 rds later they were all eating those word & 6 to 7 years later we're talking about Vitali as being one of the baddest mother****ers on the planet that intimidates everyone he fights to the point of Not LETTING his hands go like KJ did to survive all 12 rds & fighters INTENTIONALLY putting on lbs to compound & imaginarily compete with his strength & size... naturally it's him that gets the blame for fighting hippos when he's the one demanding that they come in at there highest weights.

Ive said it for a long ass time now, but a Lennox who was prime and in shape (aka actually gave a **** about the fight) had the ability to beat any heavyweight in history. The guy was the goods.

Yep without using his superior boxing skills, he fought Vitali's fight.

I'm still struggling to find a Klitschko fan who has any sense of reality. Their posts are often delusional, inaccurate and missing keys facts.

Old man Lennox, who had one foot in retirement, was in the worst shape of his career (heaviest ever) and was spending more time on the promotional side of things than focusing on the fight (Due to him owning Lion Promotions)

Still won the fight, fairly and incompliance with the rules of boxing, after losing the first few rounds. The fight was even at the time of the stoppage and Vitali while brave was unable to Ko the old out of condition champ. Lennox took all of the 'Prime' Vitalis best shots and handled them well. Vitali was hanging on for dear life when hit with Lennox uppercuts.

Lennox Lewis was in the ascendancy while VK was fading badly at the time of the stoppage. Klitschko's face was a horrendous mess.

Vitali is a very good champion and fighter and its a good win on Lennox resume particularly given that it was when he was well past his peak.
