The most embarrassing thing about this thread, is that someone rehashed it. Time to evaluate where you are, & what you're doing, if digging this up made you feel good.
I still stand by what I said then. Calzaghe had accomplished nothing and Lacy looked unstoppable at 168. Things change, big deal. I see none of you were even posting on here back then. Hindsight is 20/20 as they say.
It's funny how many Fat Yanks say that The Blow accomplished "nothing" pre-Lacy, yet delcared Lacy as achieving things by beating old Blow opponents many years down the line.
Of course, Calzaghe's wins only count when it's a Yank or someone that's been on showtime.
The best thing about this thread is its lack of Calzaghe fans. The guy was an unknown until he beat Lacy, who was unproven but at least chasing big fights. Now there's tons of Calzaghe fans lol. I guess it helps that Hatton got ****in destroyed.

Yeah, cos Calzaghe's only had fans since December, right?
Joe was only "unknown" in America, not in world terms. And how was Lacy chasing "big fights" when he was just wiping up Joe's sloppy seconds?
A KO win over a prime Sheika means nothing when Lacy can beat him on points and get wobbled by him years later, right?

It's worse than you not knowing much about boxing - you aren't playing with a full deck if you believed Lacy is the "man at 168", Diego Fuego.
