Calzaghe definitely faked the injury to get out of their fight, so can we go ahead and say Lacy is the man to beat? Lacy has fought the better opposition as of late while Calzaghe continues to do nothing. Lacy is the champ. If Calzaghe wants to bring his meaningless WBO title to the table, he can challenge Lacy if he wants to, but if it doesn't take place in the states, no way Lacy should accept him as a challenger.

Can we go ahead and call Lacy the man at 168?

he is good........but he ain't the man.........why doesn't he challenge the wbc title holder markus beyer, or the wba champ mikkel kessler.........
i have always said that the man at 168 is kessler, before calzaghe, lacy and the others..........
so unless he starts challenging the other title holders, then he is nowhere near the man.........he doesn't have to fight them, but just offer the challenge, so if they don't accept, then he is worthy of his credibility.......
Lacy himself said that he wasn't ready to challenge Kessler.......so that speaks for a lot.......
I'd love to see him KTFO of Beyer, but I know that Beyer wouldn't come to the states, and perhaps Lacy would be reluctant to go over to Germany too.

1st thing - Calzaghe didn't fake the hand injury...
"Calzaghe's worst fears were confirmed on Sunday when an X-ray revealed he had broken a metacarpal bone".
2nd - Kessler, Beyer, Ottke, all refused to fight Joe... (particulary Ottke). Calzaghe has fought better opposition than those guys anyway.
