    Will alvarez be mentally right?

Since he missed weight his whole thought process could be thrown off. He knows everyone is dissapointed that he didn't make weight, he knows he's gonna be missing $70,000 etc. For a 20 year old kid he might let this go to his head. Not trying to make excuses but if he looks off tonight it could be the reason.

its his fault for not making weight so if he's not right mentally, its his fault.

Anyone else watch Dywer on youtube?

He thinks Hatton has a decent chance and will certainly make it past 7

only way the weight issue effected him mentally is if he's worried he can't make it the full 12 rounds, but hatton should've forced the ginger to weigh in at 154 lbs 3pm today...

I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure $70,000 is/will be just peanuts down the road for Alvarez (and GB may just reimburse it), but it's a lot of money to a twenty year old, and he may be preoccupied with the thought of losing it. But beyond just the money, him only shedding four ounces in 90 minutes tells me that Alverez was either already weight drained, or didn't even try to lose it. The former can be bad physically come fight time, but if it's the latter he may balloon up above 160 for today's weigh in and lose even more money.

But who knows, this may have been the plan all along and he as cool as a cucumber right now.

I don't think he will give a ****. $70,000 is chump change for the people pushing him as the next big thing they will more than likely foot the bill.

If he lets this screw with his mind to the point that he can't deal with a scrub in Mathew Hatton then he is mentally weak.

It probably won't affect him. I remember Castillo-Corrales II where Castillo didn't even make weight and knocked Corrales out in the 4th. Those fighters are usually at an advantage since they might not have pushed themselves to the limits to make weight and instead they are well physically.

Anyways, I don't think he cares about the weight issue...like someone said, Oscar probably told him not to worry about the weight so much. It seems like winning a world title doesn't really mean a whole lot since they pretty much hand them out now-a-days.
