    This title fight is a travesty and trouncing on boxing history.

    Canelo alvarez is going to break fernando vargas's legitimate record as the youngest junior middleweight champion ever by beating a not top ten 147 pound contender. what a freakin joke. never beat a ranked or even top 100 154 pound fighter and he gets to choose the unranked (by the wbc) fighter he wants from a division lower to fight alvarez?
    way to ruin boxing history jose sulaiman. next time he says in doing what's best for boxing everybody needs to know its b.s.
    - this is just as bad if not worse than tyrone brunson coming along and fighting enough complete total bums to beat edwin valero's hard earned legitimate consecutive first round ko record.

          New year,same **** bro.We had someone add to records with a 154 title farce last year,we get another this year & probably some more too.

              why do you guys act so surprised?

              boxing orgs have been garbage since the dawn of time.

              i read the same complaints for pac-marg. now look. this one is even worse than that.

              wbc is garbage. in fact all of them ABC orgs are garbage.

              don't even pay attention to it.

              just keep track of ring champions and ring rankings.

              ring is not perfect but they ain't garbage either.

                    just look at the last 3 title fights for vacant wbc titles at 154.

                    pacquiao-margarito.

                    forrest-baldomir.

                    mayorga-piccirillo

                    neither pacquiao or margarito had done anything of much note at 154.

                    forrest had 3 fights coming after a 2 year layoff. deserving of a title shot?

                    and he was fighting baldomir for it. whose most recent fight was when he lost his title at 147.

                    before that the other vacant title fight for the wbc at 154 was mayorga-piccirillo.

                    mayorga was coming off a loss to tito at 160 and was 1-2 in his last 3.
