First off, why does Lem keep saying the fight fell apart TWICE due to the Olympic Style drug testing? It only fell apart once because of that, the second negotiations either didn't place or nobody responded. Either way, Lem is incorrect.

And, regarding the rest of the article, as much as I would like to believe Arum is just saying this to piss off GBP, I really think he believes the fight could me made with Don. Plus, I think Bob really wants to make the fight too. People say he doesn't want his pride pupil to lose, so he is avoiding tough challenges. But think about it, Pacquiao had 2.9 million PPVs buys with Cotto, Clottey and Margarito. If Pacquiao vs. Floyd Jr was made, that would probably be close if not exceeding that 2.9 number. You run only one promotion instead of three and you make the same amount of money in one night that otherwise took almost a year and a half for the time needed to get in 3 fights. And if the fight is close or has a controversial conclusion, then you can make another one and you get another 3.0 million PPVs. Bob is alot of things (sleezeball, scumbag, etc.) but one thing we all know about him is he loves money, and Pacquiao vs. Mayweather has dollar signs all over it...

The second Manny loses, his marketability plummets, thats just how it is.

Which would you prefer.....

You say that however we don't even know the terms of the second negotiations because according to Floyd Jr and Al Haymon, they never happened. Therefore, to say the way the only fight will happen is OSDT doesn't fly here. Team Floyd either never responded or they weren't even talking/negotiating. Either way it that implies that if nothing happened, they obviously didn't talk about OSDT and if that is the case, then how can that be the root cause!

That was definitely the root cause of the fight being killed back in Dec 2009.

Since then, Manny has stated in the media that he is willing to accept a 7-day cutoff, but Mayweather has not been interested in fighting.

Obviously, Mayweather is not " scared ", only silly kids would believe that.

But he has made no indication whatsoever that he is ready to fight again.

Manny has stated that he wants the fight and is happy to enter into negotiations (Bob willing), but Mayweather is not pushing the issue at all, so if Arum were prepared to deal with GBP, then it would be technically correct to say that Mayweather is the main reason why both parties are not currently negotiating that fight.

The problem is, Arum's comments in this very article, coupled with the fact that he already lied about the June 16th 2010 "deadline" prove that he is the main blockade for this fight.

Then again, if Mayweather publicly stated that he was ready to enter into negotiations, Bob would have nowhere to go.

The fight wouldn't get made that fast because Floyd wants drug testing and Pacquiao doesn't want to bend 100% to Mayweather's demands. Doesn't matter if it's Don King or GBPs. Arum just doesn't want to pay GBP because of the whole Pacquiao and GBPs contract dispute.

Maybe King/Arum could negotiate on a level where concessions in order to make the fight happen become the main focus? Maybe their negotiations would be of a nature where Manny would not feel compromised?

Who knows?

Personally, I feel that the very same day that Manny announces to Bob that he will only fight one more time, Arum will suddenly have no problem negotiating with GBP.
