    Acosta Didn't Clinch

Big mistake. When he was tired he could get some time so that he can get some air and continue to move. Also, it would get him out of some trouble on the ropes. His lack of clinching is one of the reasons I felt Rios would get to him after the 6th round.

Well not nearly enough imo. Many times he was standing there and trading as well

Agree 100%, everytime he got in trouble is because he spent too long on the ropes trying to trade. He should have been doing what his corner kept telling him to do and that's tie Rios up.

Usually most of the guys at LW and below don't clinch, that's why I respect lower weights more.

He couldn't because Rios was overpowering him. He was wasting more energy by clinching.

He was trying to wrap up and Rios just kept hitting him. It wasn't like he didn't know to clinch, he just couldn't actually get his arms around Bam Bam consistently enough to save himself.

acosta was clinching a lot, but cortez was breaking them up alot so he didn't get much rest.

plus, rios was always busy and working. even the pushing and shoving was taking it's toll on acosta.

                  rios looks stronger than acosta.
