In your opinion should he have let Kochulito continue after that MASSIVE counter to the temple left him wiggiglin on the ground like that???? what say you????
I said it somewhere in another thread but watching it from media section it looked as if Mora never saw the convulsions as he was telling Nonito where to go and then trying to pick up the count. So I cannot fault him at that point
where it becomes an issue is it doesn't look like he asks Cochulito if he can step forward for him. All he does is seemingly ask if he is okay, Montiel kind of strugs his shoulders and does the "whats up" with his gloves, and the fight goes on.
he should have realized that he needed to take his time examining Montiel because that shot was about as hard a punch as you can land.

Great point....I had not realized that he does turn around just at that moment.....
I for one think he did a good job over all.....I think he was on top of the action after he let them continue and stopped the fight as soon as he realized Kochulito was out of it......otherwise you coulda had kats claiming he coulda fought him self back in the fight......to me it was legit!

ref did a great job up until the point he asked montiel to step forward and montiel didn't, but he let montiel continue anyways.
however, he was right on top of the action and didn't let montiel take more punishment than necessary.
he gave the champ a shot and only let him take two more punches really
i think we'd be hearing massive boos if he would have stopped it w/o giving him a chance
I think so too.....and you make the same point the announcers did (not sure who said it) that as the champ you should be afforded that chance........I hear alot of kat taking smak though saying that he shouldn't have let him continue.....alot of my MMA buddies are saying that is a prime example on how MMA is much "safer" than boxing.........

I don't think the ref saw how hard Montiel really got hit from the angle he was standing in when Montiel started convolsing. I believe if he had seen that from the jump he may have stopped the fight there. Nevertheless, fight ended literally 3 seconds after Montiel got back up.
