People it only looks like a dent because of swelling around the center. The non swelled part looks like a dent. Scar tissue will not swell as an example, but surrounding tissue will. For all we know he could have had a bad zit in that spot at one time.

I'll say this again, that KO punch that Donaire landed wasn't the only punch that he landed all night. Montiel was taking heavy blows before that left hook. Plus he took a couple more hard punches when he got up. So nothing to be surprised about especially since Donaire has 1 punch KO power.

I'm no expert, but I do know a lot about swelling. Once having 22 broken bones at the same time kinda makes me an expert.

If I had to guess, Nonito has a protruding knuckle. That so called "dent" is where the knuckle landed. It was hard enough that it caused trauma to that area, and Montiel's body's auto immune kicked in with swelling to protect around that area. If that pick was taken about 5-10 minutes later, the so called "dent" would be swelled also and everyone would have seen a badly swollen temple.
