Donaire vs Rigondeaux - who wins it?

There's been a lot of talk about Donaire vs Gambo or Lopez. I'm surprised no one has mentioned rigondeaux as a possible opponent.

Less of a jump in weight, only two years apart in age and both known to be superquick counter-punchers.

I know Rigondeaux didn't look stellar in his last, but he has another fight coming next month that can change people's expectations of how this would go down.

I think style-wise it would be an insane speed-chess match to see who lands the big punch first.

Rigo would have to be a huge underdog in this one though.

What do you all think? Should be a more realistic match up then a Gamboa or Lopez one.

Rigo is stuck in his amateur ways. I don't see anything in him other than his good defense.

I'd keep donaire away from Rigondeaux because even if he can beat him he'd probably end up look like **** doing it. So the win-reward just doesn't make sense.

I'm a fan of Rigondeaux btw, he needs to bounce back from his last fight and show he can be a little more offensive.

I don't know. I'm a Rigo skeptic especially after he got knocked down by a jab from a fighter with not much power. He is one of the most skillful fighter out there though. Nishioka vs Donaire now that's a fight!

Haha, Neither can I. That's why I want to see it happen. What Nat wrote above stands though. Rigo has got to bounce back and look amazing doing it in his next to get people talking. Rigo has fallen off of a lot of people's radar (maybe he was never on them to begin with).

He was the first guy I thought of though, given the styles. It could be a boring fight, but someone eventually would land something...and it would be huge. Also it would be interesting to see Donaire matched up with even speed.

i can see rigo by ko to the body when he counters nonito or nonito koing rigo when he steps up with a hook

Rigo has that amateur mentality in him. Nobody will look good against him even donaire. Boring fight with rigo running all around the ring.

yep, and it'll be hard for nonito to land a clean punch cause of rigondo's defense and the running.
