so hopkins, toney, mccallum, virgil hill, reggie johnson, tarver, johnson and calzaghe were all bums were they

how about you stfu and do some research before you talk crap

manny's rise to the top and roy's are very different

roy should have been given the gold at the olympics he was far ahead of the pack from day one pacquiao has had to improve dramatically to get to where jones was comfortably residing at

jones' problems were more to do with him than his opponents when you are that far ahead of your peers (with an exception to McCellan) then it must be hard to stay focused

untill jones was knocked out no one (other then griffin in their first bout) came close to beating jones

for years he dominated opponents and struggled to stay motivated to keep beating anyone the sanctioning bodies threw at him

then after being knocked out his decline was rapid

pacquiao was a flawed fighter that had been stopped before but became great because he had special gifts and roach nutured them and made him into a monster

but pac isn't fighting young lions he is fighting guys that are either shopworn or old and past it so really there isn't any risk of him getting old in the ring anytime soon especially if they keep lining him up with guys that mayweather has already beaten physically and mentally

that being said pacquiao has proved himself in a way roy never could because there was never anyone great enough to give jones the test that he needed to show us how great he really was

    skill wise jones >>>> pacquiao

but pacquiao was tested several times and came through at the other end as a p4p champ it's something only very special fighters do but i believe jones was just as special if not more

Pacquiao has far more skill than RJJ. All RJJ ever had was his amazing athleticism. But how much of that was because of roids? Pacquiao is better than RJJ in every way (except maybe handspeed and combination punching) but thats not a insult to RJJ because Pacquiao is far better than 99 percent of all boxers in history.

so him fighting diaz was fighting the best was it

and oscar at a weight he hadn't made in 7 years

and hatton after being beaten by mayweather

and cotto after he was destroyed by margarito

and margarito after a ban and fighting a bum like garcia

now mosley after he has been beaten by mayweather

            hmm i think that's debatable

we only know how great manny is because he has been tested

roy was never tested in his prime

he could have stayed at middle or super middle and had a reign like hopkins but he wanted bigger challenges so he jumped divisions

plus look how many punches manny gets hit with in jones prime you couldn't lay a glove on him

so as far as who was more talented i don't think there is much debate that jones was very far ahead

Wow will go down as one of the best of.our.generation, flat out, Ali is still.considered the greatest even after losing some of his last fights due to age and skill deterioration, the only fighter to ever test manny aside from Morales was Jmm who won more rounds against manny I believe 16 of 24 and let not be dumb and say that Jmm didn't beat manny that last fight, all you need against manny is fast hands and incredible timing

These Pac guys are bugging. Manny Pacquiao was not more skillful than Roy Jones Jr in his prime. Manny was already losing to bums early in his career while no bums every touched Jones Jr. Roy Jones jumped from Middleweight to Heavyweight without a catchweight and won a title which hasn't been done in over a century. In his prime, Roy Jones Jr was an amazing fighter. That's the point I am making. Pac fans think no one is or was greater than Pac? That's ridiculous. Jones finally got beat by an actual threat (Tarver) at the time. When was the last time Manny fought a threat? I don't want to make it into that kind of debate but to say Manny is greater than Roy Jones Jr was in his prime is crazy talk.

                      Money

The thought of earning some more millions can really make a boxer
rethink his retirement. I don't think Manny has that option right now,
with Bob Arum, Roach, Konz ,Fernandez and his large entourage
                      at his side.

I'd say don't wait for that "lazy" moment, just take the Money and
                      RUN, RUN to your mother.
