Can Steward teach Cotto a right hand?

A knock I've had on Cotto is that he's so left-handed dominant, and uses his right hand at such a lower percentage than his left, that it puts him at a severe disadvantage against guys who can fight with both hands. When Cotto drops his left to throw it, whether it's a jab or hook, it leaves him completely exposed to right hands. Then he gets frustrated and starts to exchange and we saw what happened to him in his last few fights (Looking past the Foreman fight, which was a mismatch)

Is Cotto past the point in his career where he can actually learn how to be a two-fisted fighter?

Cotto injured his right shoulder once I believe that's the reason he's left-hand oriented. So no, I think he's not past the point.

Didn't Cotto have shoulder surgery or something like that. I remember someone telling me that once was why he didn't use the right hand.

I don't think he could teach him that though and if he could it would be a very long process that could get thrown off any number of ways especially if he finds himself in tough fights because people tend to go back to what they are comfortable with when the going gets tough.

A nice right hand would look good on Cotto though i can't deny.

I ve his want him to tell Cotto to move his damn head again. And stop trying to be the slugger he was at 140 and box.

It's a decent right hand but he really doesn't utilize it as much as he should.

Well I did notice in the Foreman fight, Cotto was throwing the right hand harder than usual. Probably thanks to Steward.

However, Cotto got surgery on his right shoulder after that fight, because of the 2001 car accident, which he never really got repaired in the past. I guess the way he threw it in the Foreman fight really took its toll on the shoulder.

Didn't Steward recently say that Cotto's right shoulder was always in pain throughout his career, before the recent surgery? I think he also said Cotto is now throwing it harder than ever, after the surgery.

We shall see when he fights Mayorga.

This is the exact weapon Cotto needed when Pac laid along the ropes and had his gaurd up not moving.

Cotto needs to start going to the body more like he used to.

Cotto had a good right hand in his 140 pound days and early 147. Even in the Mosley fight he was throwing vicious right hands. It was after Mosley that he stopped throwing it with consistency for some reason to the point In the Clottey and Pacquiao fights it looked he was fighting with one hand. against Foreman he landed good ones but too few.

cotto is a converted southpaw... of course he's gonna use his left hand more... it's a habit that cotto does... but steward can change it in training by emphasing certain combinations.

Cotto's straight right is his best shot after the left to the body. He'll set it up with the left, sometimes, actually.
