I always thought Mosley would easily KO Pacquiao, but after the Margarito fight I give Pacquiao a chance....especially if Mosley doesn't throw punches. Pac's defense has improved but he is still there to be hit. Mosley's right hand is the key to the fight.

Outside The Box
Many of the posts that are found here are not fit for public consumption.
I do not know what the problem is.
Has the act of being civil and respectful regarding the topic of prizefighting a lost art preserved only by the Kellermans, Merchants and Kennys?
I posted an article citing Arthur Abraham as a pugilist who does not play by the rules and I received vicious hate mail.
But I know that there are very bright minds out there who love the sport as I do so I shall keep on keepin' on hoping for a wide exchange of ideas.
The Mosely/Pac debacle is not about a great prize fight.
It is about Bob Arum's idea of common cents.
He knows that the dollars will follow, at least for this one mismatch.
If the fight were between two prime time warriors it could raise the stakes for the return to Boxing on free TV
But alas there is only one truly gloved great involved in this exhibition.
What Arum is attempting is political in nature.
He is stating 'support this fight and it will lead to the return of network Boxing."
Sorry.
That argument simply makes no cents when they are shoving Shane at us for 60 bucks a throw and anticipating incredible PPV numbers.
The once remarkable Mosely is simply too old for the wonder named Pacquiao.
See? It all comes down to common cents.

Now, on to topic, this fight may be closer to farce than fight but it is indeed an event and will be huge. The thing is us hardcore boxing fans know the truth, but the casual fan will not. They will see Mosley as an older, experienced fighter who beat ODLH twice and was possibly a couple of shots away from KO'ing Mayweather. The fact that Mosley was 38 and was able to nail Floyd Jr will give enough intrigue to the casual fan. That alone will be enough to sell this fight and with the backing of CBS doing the Fight Camp 360 and all the publicity that Manny is getting these days, I feel this will do approx 1.2 to 1.6 million PPVs. If you look at Mosley's losses, they look like this: Winky Wright, 2 loses by decision and Vernon Forrest, 2 loses by decision. Two guys whom nobody wanted to face and two guys that ODLH and others completely ducked. The next loss was to Cotto and that was really close and could have gone either way and Cotto was on top of his game that night. And his other loss, to Mayweather, is against either the number 1 or number 2 fighter out there (depending on who you talk to).
So, will it bring boxing back to network TV? Who knows, but it looks like whomever Manny fights, they will generate huge publicity for now on, which is good for boxing in general...Last edited by SluggerFan; 02-15-2011, 06:43 PM.
