Comments Thread For: Arum: Mayweather-Pacquiao a Priority For November

According to a report in The Philippine Star, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is scheduled to return in the month of November. First, he must defeat "Sugar" Shane Mosley on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. If Pacquiao beats Mosley, then his promoter, Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, will attempt to make a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The fight depends on the outcome of Mayweather's ongoing criminal court battles.

I have a feeling it is going to be Pacquiao vs Marquez in a all Top Rank showdown.

**** is played out like Atari. I don't know what part of 'I'm taking a couple of years off' that Bob doesn't get.

But it's looking like Pac's trajectory for his next 2 fights is Marquez in November, Bradley in May of '12. So looks like all the people saying Manny is ducking Marquez or he won't fight anyone young, Black, 'slick', undefeated, etc (assuming he doesn't lose) will be eating crow very soon.

No point in beating a dead horse, uncle Bob. Just head straight to a Marquez trilogy. The sooner you promote this fight the better. It's not you to decide whether the Mayweather fight happens or not. It's Floyd's. You don't even have to promote this mega fight, anyway. If it happens, it happens because Floyd wants it, not because fans or uncle Bob wants it.
