    Sergio Martinez meets 30-day weight at 173lbs

    Middleweight champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez (46-2-2, 25 KOs) of Argentina, but now residing in Oxnard, CA, met the pre-weight requirement today and registered in at 173 lbs, the weight was within the mandated 10% over the 160 lb middleweight limit. Martinez, trained by 2010’s ‘Trainer of the Year’ Gabriel Sarmiento at the World Crown Sports Training Center in Port Hueneme, CA will step back into the ring on Saturday, March 12th against the undefeated Sergei Dzinziruk (37-0, 23 KOs) of Ukraine at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT which will be shown live on HBO’s ‘World Championship Boxing’.
    Will probably come in at 170 at fight night.

          I think it's still doable. He's going to have to for when he fights Cotto. It would be a shame to lose all that muscle mass though.

              guys that's not a lot of weight at all between fights. on average a fighter fights at about "20 pounds under his normal, in shape, regular diet, fully hydrated weight". Sergio was prolly about 180 pounds at the start of camp. he might be around 185 outta training camp now that he has clearly added some muscle

                he had to loose 20 lbs in 3 weeks in his last fight also if im not mistaken....so he's good right now!......

                  He would do it just to knock Pacroid out but Pacroids too much of a ***** to fight anyone who's not shot.
