Granted Floyd has the defence part down but he has decent striking ability, good accuracy and speed but lack variety and combos.

But Floyd also relies on the dirty part of the game.

Floyd inside game is bad, and thats why he needs these dirty spoiling tactics, which the ref should be having words with him about.

I want to watch boxing not someone ramming there forearm in there opponents face and punch and hold.
Do you not consider Willy Pep a pure boxer either, since he learned judo to deal with the rough housing tactics of Barney Ross.

It is about getting the job done, knowing how to break the rules without getting caught is also a skill~. fighting on the inside is a dirty business if you will not get down and dirty you have no business fighting in that realm unless you just want to get killed on the inside like Cotto.

It's like saying Kobe isn't the most skilled player in the NBA because of his sneaky illegal elbows throwing.

Watch Marquez vs Katsidis and see how you are meant to fight on the inside.

The refs should enforce the rules.

Pro Boxing is a spectator sport and just tying up fighter on the inside spoiling tactics and bending the rules don't make fights good to watch.

Marquez is a pure boxer and so is Pacquiao, there tactic are not based on spoiling. And thats why they have great fights.

Whats is the point of refs if they don't even give warning for repeated offences

I don't consider pure boxers to be that soft, how you describe a pure boxer is straight up soft and I would expect any fighter that would be willing to go the extra mile would beat them because the dirty tricks would frustrate them and if they are just looking at the ref the whole fight there is nothing that will change the path of that fight in their favor.

Willing to get down and dirty is not excluded from pure boxers.

Katsidas let JMM do that. A real fighter doesn't give away any free lunches like that.

Spoiling tactics are a part of the sport, this sport is not called clean punching it is called boxing that involves all kinds of little tricks both to attack and defend. A fighter neglects such things at their own peril.

That is why those guy aren't as good as Floyd at boxing they look at one side of the sport where Floyd is looking at the whole picture.

Either you can fight in a number of ways or you can fight one way~ I don't penalize guys for doing different things.

That works also, I would call the sneaky tricks a skill though that is what you gain from experience.

Wrestling moves were outlawed about 150 years ago, no body, luck forearms, elbow, head butts.

Katsidis tried to box, he didn't try to spoil, maybe he would have gotten away with it, it is taught to tie you opponent up, to break up rhythm, and even though it become apart of the game, it is not in the rules.

DUDE you are killing me with the Floyd's inside game is bad. How many Floyd fights have you seen?? I ask that you watch some of his fights and then make a critique that goes beyond his last 3 fights. I agree about that the elbows can be excessive, but Floyd's inside fighting is ridiculous!!! FIX THAT!

And were are not on about skills. My point was on the label the pure boxer.

Now they may happen time to time in a fight, and elbow a forearm, a head but and clinching but when a fighter is using that apart of their tactics the ref is not doing his job.
