I kinda hear that, but those articles are few and far bestween. at every single day, there are at least 3 fighters on the front page of bs having "the best camps of their life" and 'training hard".

Yet they let him do press row scoring for Showtime on the Rios/Acosta fight.. As expected he nut-hugged his buddy the duration of the fight.

I saw that and it was criminal/pathetic. it's like having studentofthegam or yessir do press scoring for a floyd fight or steelhammer do scoring for wlad haye. that dude needs to go away. funny how his scores weren't even close to anyone's, that should be the last gig he gets doing that.

the dude who assigns those out is some young cat with about the same amount of knowledge about the sport as Elie

I don't know if I told this story but we were at Fight Night Club and Elie was assigned next to me and he starts his usual "I interviewed____" name dropping he does and it gets to a point where he literally says

"yeah I interviewed that Haitian guy you know the champion? Welterweight you know him..."

          me

"dude if you don't know how Andre Berto what does that say about your knowledge of the sport?"

he tried to play it off like it was on the tip of his tongue and what not

I have no beef with the kid but the Showtime thing was horrible. As a Rios fan I had it 5-4 Rios when he knocked out Acosta.

seriously... schaefer is a shameless name-dropper. it's lame!
Hell yeah! They talk about potential opponents for their fighters like it's already signed yet they haven't even negotiated or negotiations aren't looking good. I just read that article right now about a bs "possible" Matthysse-Alexander and K9-Lara match ups.

plus rios is actually an interesting read cuz he talks lotsa shi t and speaks on other topics from the heart.

i know you ask specifics, but how often do they really admit to any specifics other than the obvious? if that happens a lot, I must miss those articles. some guys share a little info, but not many.
the not so obvious things is actually their fight plan...i don't think they would talk about it and reveal it to the media.

there's other things they could speak about, maybe reak down who they fought in the past that was similar, what they think about their opponent. they can give some info without giving away their entire gameplan.

paulie malignaggi is good at that stuff.

but if they're not gonna do that, then don't even give us the ******ed uninformative cookie cutter article.

tell some specifics from sparring. who are the partners etc

well the problem then is not about what they wanna admit or not because they're just answering questions. they're being asked the same boring questions all the time so you get the same boring answers too.
