People would bite on this fight in an instant. Lewis-Tyson was one of the biggest money-making fight in the history of boxing and they were way past their prime when they fought. Same thing with Dela Hoya and Vargas.

YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT TYSON-LEWIS, BUT THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT THEY HAD FOUGHT, THIS WOULD BE THE SECOND AND I DONT REALLY SEE A DIFFERENT OUTCOME, EVEN WITH THE NEW VARGAS STYLE.

I would prefer to see Mayorga/Vargas but If Vargas wants to loose to De La Hoya again and walk away with a big payday then we can't blame him. He is a shot fighter now and should at least make sure he has some money for his troubles.

I think that Vargas doesn't want to fight Mayorga because of the title situation. I doubt Vargas is scared of Mayorga and I don't think that Vargas is just looking for a big pay day with DLH. I think Vargas feels really confident with his new trainer and he feels DLH is a fight he can win. I thinkl it's a good thing that he is more defensive now but in order for him to beat DLH he will need to let his hands go when given a chance. He can't stay in defensive mode for the entire fight like he did with Castillejo. He needs to mix his new style with the old one.

I'm not really excited about this bout but it will make both of them millions. I think DeLaHoya wins by KO by the 8th round. That's if he is in shape. I really think Vargas has really slipped lately and isn't the same fighter that faced Oscar the first time around.

I don't have much interest in this fight...

However, the first fight, was one of the greatest fights of all time IMO..
