That " prove himself " rubbish, is total fkn junk.

Don't listen to Arum, it is clearly obvious that Manny's career has been carefully manufactured, ooops I mean, guided.

Arum/Koncz/Roach/Manny ALL stated that they chose Shane because it was the best financial option on the table.

Marquez already " proved himself "..... TWICE !!

Pacquiao has NEVER clearly beaten Marquez.

Sure 140 is still most likely too high for JMM, and sure 147 is absurd.

But, that's the way Team Pacquiao operate buddy.

The 147 demand for JMM was a joke, considering that both Ariza and Roach have recently stated that Manny is a natural JWW and can easily make 140.
1st of all, lets start by you reading again what I wrote and tell me where did i said Marquez need to prove himself for Pacman. I clearly wrote "To increase his chancce for a Pacman" (I even paste it now with the wrong grammar from my original post).
I do agree that probably beating the guys you and I mentioned would not get him a fight, but it will increase his "chances" than fighting Morales.
Regarding Mosley, IMO he is more dangerous than JMM even at this stage of his career.
Same as public opinion say that Mosley is to old for Pacman, they also say that this Pacman will be too much for JMM as this is not the same Pacman JMM fought. He is now much bigger, stronger, and has taken punches from guys that have weigh in almost 40 more lbs than JMM so it's a matter of who the promoters beleive will sell more at this point. Marquez can change that public opinion if he fight somebody bigger an beats him, which will than put pressure on Pacman side to make the fight. Whether they will make it or no we never know. One thing is for sure if JMM wants a piece of the pie (cash) against Pacman, it will be at 147.
I do not know what you call recent but before the Cotto fight Roach and Ariza have mentioned that Pacman will not return to 140.

True that JMM is the last person to come close to beat Pacman and probably he did won 1 of the fights but then is then and now is now, Pacquiao has gone 3 divisions higher while Marquez only performance.

Bottom line, if JMM is even thinking about Pacman, he will have to be willing to meet him at 147, fight somebody respectfull above 135, to help sell himself (not saying prove himself) and then probably he might get Pacman.
Don't give up your hope to see the fight because after Mosley, there is not too many offers for Pacman if PBF continues on vacation and Berto seems to not want to fight an elite fighter, Sergio is to far away for now.
One thing is for Sure, fighting Morales is a no win situation for JMM!!!
It might turn out to be a good fight, but he gains nothing!!!
Unless he wants an easy fight, which he deserves, but be careful with those so called easy fights.

This pretty much means that Morales can't make 135. Somebody said that this fight would be for the Ring belt at Lightweight. Pistol Whip did. But how can that be the case when this fight is gonna take place at a higher weight? I'm gonna wait until this is confirmed before passing criticism. But I will be so disappointed if JMM goes through with this fight.

Yes, I acknowledge that, but I do not think that beating Berto, for example, would change one single thing. They are fighting Mosley, because they want to fight Mosley, not because JMM has not "proved himself".

No, beating Berto will not increase JMM's chances anymore than beating Morales would. They would have taken Marquez, if it suited them.

Regarding Mosley, IMO he is more dangerous than JMM even at this stage of his career.

Agreed. Mosley is more dangerous than JMM. The Mosley fight is bad, but not as bad as JMM/Morrales in my opinion.

One thing is for sure if JMM wants a piece of the pie (cash) against Pacman, it will be at 147.

And that is fkn gay. I'm bagging Pac until he retires if they make that fight.

I do not know what you call recent but before the Cotto fight Roach and Ariza have mentioned that Pacman will not return to 140.

Recently was IMMEDIATELY prior to the Margarito fight, so just a few months ago. I am at work, so I cannot post you links..... but I have a dozen links quoting Ariza/Roach stating that Manny is a natural JWW, he can easily make 140, and he can eat "anything on the table" while training for a fight where he weighed-in at 144.

True that JMM is the last person to come close to beat Pacman and probably he did won 1 of the fights but then is then and now is now, Pacquiao has gone 3 divisions higher while Marquez only performance.

Agreed, which makes the 147 demand a real b1tch-move to me.

Bottom line, if JMM is even thinking about Pacman, he will have to be willing to meet him at 147, fight somebody respectfull above 135, to help sell himself (not saying prove himself) and then probably he might get Pacman.

Nope, I truly believe that would make no difference at all. If they wanted JMM, they would have taken him before now, no question.

Don't give up your hope to see the fight because after Mosley, there is not too many offers for Pacman if PBF continues on vacation and Berto seems to not want to fight an elite fighter, Sergio is to far away for now.

I am not interested in Pac/JMM III if the fight is held at 147.

That would just be yet another cherry-picked Pac fight
" One thing is for Sure, fighting Morales is a no win situation for JMM!!!

Good point. I pretty much agree with you, except that JMM's next move makes little-to-no difference as to whether he lands a Pac fight. Manny fights anybody, coming off a loss, no trainer, catch-weight, whatever, they don't care. He fought a shot welterweight bum for a JMW title for chris-sakes.

although I will be rooting for the underdog EM, this is a good stay busy fight for Marquez at the same time after securing the win, he keeps his chances/hopes for a 3rd fight with Pac alive ....

IMHO if the PAC-FLOYD fight wont happen this year, Marquez is on Pac's shortlist of opponents...
