Comments Thread For: Mayweather vs Pacquiao: HBO-Showtime War An Issue

Showtime's reemergence as a powerful force in the biggest boxing matches on prime cable and on pay-per-view is, as I noted Saturday, a plus for the sport/business overall.

If CBS can reconfigure their sports department similar if not better than HBO's then the author is right in saying this could be a plus factor for the sport.

CBS has 150M viewers compared to HBO's 28M... that is muscle, a big one at that. I hope CBS can learn how to use it.

It's not a real issue. It's not like Pacquiao and Arum have signed some exclusivity deal with Showtime. Top Rank still has some fights on HBO and likely will have some scheduled later this year.
