Honestly why did Joe Calzaghe retire??

I mean if your gonna be undefeated and end your career, it seems like 50 wins would be the thresh hold. There are plenty of fights out there that this guy could take and him retiring seems to be acceptable to many, yet Bernard Hopkins fights on and when FMJ talks of retirement is shunned! SO he beat an old RJJ and squeaked away with a close win over BH sorta like JT (look where he is now)beat Eubanks ages ago and brutalized a young guy in Kessler who since has been brutalized again(lost).

I mean really Calzaghe was, is defintely talented by ending his career like he did should bring a littler more distaste.. he could fight the winner of BH_JP 2 or Dawson in the mean-while and that winner fight for the title. Yet he retired, since has admitted to ******* use and well he has fell off the map, 12 yrs as SMW champ and unlike a RJJ, Hopkins even Dawson his reign doesnt seem like anything big, if i where him id be mad and trying to prove im great look at the Klitschkos!!

I guess im trying to say Calzaghe seems to be a scared ass ***** and quit while he was on the top (so he thought) to avoid the oncoming stampede of good fights, fighters arising at that class yay!?!

Coke.. Not training as hard.. 36 years old.. Didn't want to lose

First 3 doesn't do you too good if you want to maintain the 4th.

So Floyd will have a chance to catch up. According to Floyd, he's the greatest because he has 0 lost. Floyd have 5 to go.

I agree with this. As well as his diminishing skills. He was smart enough to get out while he could instead of staying in and losing to the likes of a Cloud, Pascal, Dawson, or even Bhop should he have fought him again. While I don't think all of them would of beaten Calzaghe, I think he knew if he wasn't 100% then the possibility was there.

Kelly Pavlik was the only real opponent left and Hopkins went and beat him.

Sir Joe could retire safely knowing his victims would wipe everyone left out.
