Bernard Hopkins is at it again. During a recent interview with Lem Satterfield of FanHouse/krikya360.com, the 45-year-old veteran made some interesting comments reagrding the issue of race, and how it relates to boxing and the big fight between Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley, which happens on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Hopkins made huge headlines in November when he spoke to Satterfield about Pacquiao possibly avoiding African American fighters.

honestly can we truly not have a mature conversation about something like this without people slangin around racist? What Hopkins said is for the most part true,IMO. Why do African Americans dominate, basketball, football and have serious majorities or at least large percentages in many other popular sports? There does seem to be an athletic edge at least in sports that are enhanced by explosiveness and speed. Is it really that big of a deal for a guy like Hopkins to state his opinion? I don't see what the big deal is whether you agree or disagree.

Yes. I totally agree that black people are built differently than others. They are strong, agile, and durable. They always dominate the sports that require power, speed and stamina. But .. they lack the brain. Intellectual or mind games are not their sports like chess. Going back to 10th century, they were a favorite ****** because of their special physique. God is really good.... each race were given special skills/features to play a unique role..

tennis (williams sisters)
golf (tiger woods)

other sports don't have a lot of african american because (1) too expensive to get into at an early age (2) doesn't pay as much or as consistantly nor does it get as much noteriety as nfl, nba, mlb.

it's just a manifestation, that not only some black people in the US want equality since the time they started thinking that they weren't beasts of burden and that they were human beings after all, not only do they want freedom/equality from their white oppressors, some of them want to be seen as the superior race, whether in sports or in the political arena. a manifestation that they are as racist as the white people who enslaved them. well, not all blacks are racist, or any color for that matter, but looking at how these thread developed into a race-war, racist people certainly aren't outnumbered!

fellas, come on now, it's statiscally proven "african-americans" are more athletic than most people due to the simple fact that back in the days the only way most of them would make it was selling dope which consisted of running from the police or playing sports, are people forgetting how whites would'nt even give a black man a job, very rarely was a black man able to make it into an academic course, for the simple fact that the white man out of hatred just thought like the dumbasses in this thread today :These nyggas are too intellectually inferior:

and EVEN with that you have PLENTY of good athletic white boys

so with that it should be obvious that athleticism doesn't come from skin color, alot of pure african fellows i know aren't athletic at all, most of them are strong as hell tho and pretty ripped without doing much, everyone i know there is fairly low fat, probabley to do with the climate

anyway, no one is as athletic as me and i have a white father(blue eyes and everything, tho i thank god he's not blonde) and a half white-half black mother

now, you dont have to be intellectually inferior just because most of your people rather do sports. Trust me, when you're athletic, you wanna do sports, reading is boring, your muscles which came from generation of action and reaction want to be used
