He's very interested in it and multiple studies have been carried out on sporting performance and race. He could have done a thesis on this by now.

I only studied it a tiny bit at university but there is heaps of stuff out there, but it's a can of worms. Hopkins is a little bit racist so I doubt he cares about that.

There is evidence to suggest that runners from East Africa need far less oxygen for their muscles than white europeans europeans (Swedish athletes) and as such would get fatigued less.
