I got Victor over Paulie, even with all the **** he has in his head. That fight would look good on his resume, but does little to get him the confidence he needs. I guess people will say he still has time due to his age which is true, but how much time is enough to get you ready? I dont want to see him end up as a gatekeeper one day.

Ortiz needs to fight a contender at 147 or Koltelnik before getting a title shot at either Zaveck's or Senchenko's belt...

Ortiz has the talent but that is his downfall too. When these boxing people see a talented young kid with a great story to go along as he does, they see dollar signs. Due to his potential, he is matched up softly and touted highly.

As long as he is superior in almost every way to his opponent, he looks amazing in the ring. Once he steps up the competition to fight a guy that has to sometimes win a fight on heart and determination, he falls apart because he is being pushed beyond his comfort zone. This is the same story with a few of these young "superstars" once they have to step it up.

This is why I like Martinez and Bradley, they both fought in obscurity for a majority of their careers. Once given the opportunity, they both capitalized and proved that they came up the hard way. I guess when you have to claw and scratch your way to the top, you can handle adversity better.

this young fighter who happens to already be a gbp fighter is already thinking about a career after boxing?? not really the best frame of mind to have..specially when many are counting on him! maybe that's just an excuse for why he quit at such a young age?

physically IMO the kid has the best tools and size in his division and when he utilizes it he is devastating

problem stems from where he is mentally. I have a feeling he does not love the sport as much as he used to

Agreed....even though I think Paulie is **** for some reason his name seems to matter...........I'd love to see Ortiz take on that fight.....

If the Zab Judah fight comes off i like his chances in that one and he will be a better fighter for it, confidence wise at least. I rate Ortiz but something does seem off, i thought he deserved to outscore Peterson but why the **** did he back up like that when he's Vicious Victor Ortiz, the bigger man the stronger man and the harder puncher!? I think he really needs to get back in with Maidana, he could be a p4p fighter if he could rid himself of the ghosts of the Maidana fight and the best /only way to do that is to beat the dude! He had Marcos on his ass what 3 times? And was clearly the classier fighter, he has a real shot at a win in a rematch, but needs to gain some confidence first or Maidana will run right through him!

You know what dude at the end of the day I think that is going to be his only way out of this funk.....Maidana derailed his **** big time....I wanna see a rematch sooner than later for sure!
