Comments Thread For: Winky Wright on How Pacquiao Shuts Mosley Down

Former champion Winky Wright, who has two victories over Shane Mosley, broke down how WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao can beat the "Sugar" man on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Wright said that he used his jab, advantage in power and plenty of pressure to shut Mosley down. That could spell bad news for Mosley, since Pacquiao's bread and butter is a non-stop assault of power punching from all angles.

pac doesnt jab, pac isn't bigger, and pac isn't stronger. Pac has to find his on way of beating shane; which in my opinion is an extreme work rate......i dont think that will be enough! when shane touches him, i am sure that the workrate will slow... this is mosley's fight!

It's true what Winky says about Mosley. SSM never was a technical boxer, Forrest,DLH and Wright all of them beat Mosley by jabbing him constantly and countering whenever Shane jumps at them.

Be nice if u were right but i cant agree, Manny is gonna **** Shane up. Mosley is past it, i think he's getting stopped for the first time here.

It will be a TKO, the ref or his corner will stop the fight.

            Pac will most likely fight the same disciplined kind of fight that he did against DLH;
            in-out-in with lots of right-lefts.
His foot-speed will remove him from the hail-mosley's that comes one at a time, and the returning in with right-left will beat up Shane badly.

I don't see how Mosley can win this particular fight without getting lucky with one of those crazy hail-mosley's.

Shane has always been one-dimensional in the ring; If something works, great, he'll keep doing it. If it doesnt, too bad, but he'll still be doing it.
Shane doesn't have that ring IQ that the greats have.

I dont know if thats too fair, i mean he changed up his game plan a few times mid fight with Cotto for example

I agree with ur fight prediction tho, In and out puches in bunches straight down the pipe while Shane loads up

In the Cotto fight, Mosley was being beaten up before Cotto punched himself out.
Mosley's will was stronger than Cotto's, so Mosley's gameplan, which consisted of trying to knock Cotto out with single punches, actually came closer to realising when Cotto changed his game and started running.
The only change I saw in that fight was Cotto tiring and Mosley getting more confident as a result.

Look at his fights with De la Hoya, Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright, Floyd Mayweather...
He does the same exact thing from the 1st round to the end of the 12th round.
His gameplans might differ a bit from previous fights, but he doesn't change his game in the ring.

The success of Mosley lies within his training and his fighting spirit, not technical brilliance/ring smarts.

                I love Shane though.

Thanks winky. I don't know what team pac man was going to do without that piece of info. What's next, is jcc jr. going to tell sergio how to beat john duddy?
