Comments Thread For: Merchant Breaks Down The Golden Boy vs Top Rank Feud

The term ‘friend’ should be used very loosely in the world of boxing but if you want to find success in the sport you are going to have to be willing to get along and work with people you aren’t too fond of. But when emotions boil over feuds often arise and it can cause a definition friction that halts all progress together.

Why didn't Merchant ever admit that Arum didn't want the Mayweather fight during his on-air rants?

he really cant do that on air but if he is answering questions in a interview he cant lose his job because of that note how the author explained how they got into to the topic basically taking away any scrutiny from HBO.

He is an analyst. It is (or SHOULD BE) his job to bring the salient facts to the fans.

I understand and respect what you are saying. But this is not like ESPN never criticizing the NFL. If Arum gets criticized, what is he going to do - boycott HBO?

what agenda is that if any thing he wants the fight to come off for his company HBO saying arum didnt want the fight isnt going to help that cause. you gotta understand that arum used to promote mayweather he even went as far as saying he was the best thing since ali the best thing he can come u with for pac is he has this his bruce lee style what in the world is a bruce lee style in boxing any way. bottom line is arum knows damn well its a good chance pac gets his ass whoop so bad it would mess up every thing he built for pac and HIM.
